Snowmobile Heaven

November 6, 2008 by

I'm looking on in envy today at those lucky Canadians that live with traveling distance of the Whistler mountain resort.

A report today in the Whistler Question uncovers the anticipation of the new snowmobile season as the snow line begins to creep down the mountainside.

Now I've had the good fortune to visit Whistler during the summer months and would count it as one of the most beautiful places on earth.  Where better to snowmobile?  [Read more]

ATV Madness

November 5, 2008 by

An article on a slightly more serious note today. I have written extensively on other sites in the past that I am sick and tired of the bad press attributed to many outdoor power sports.

A search of Google news will reveal new stories on a daily basis siting accident, damage, destruction, injury or death involving power sports participants.

Well newsinferno.com is today reporting that ATV accidents continue to rise unabated. It was a bit of an eye opener for me.  A new report published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission shows that atv related deaths and injuries increased from 146,000 in 2007 to 150,900 in 2008.

What does this say about responsible ATV riding? [Read more]

Pure Outdoor Sports Indoors

November 4, 2008 by

We're going on a little diversion today but I hope the journey will be worthwhile.  You see, whilst I love the outdoors and the world of outdoor sport in particular there are just times when you need to kick back and relax.  You know, those days when you just don't want to leave the house.

I love to spend the day on my own from time to time and enjoy being able to do what I want, to do it when I want to do it and without having to consider anyone else.  Selfish some would say but I think it brings a greater balance to our lives to have some alone time.

Anyway, as you might guess apart from being a sports fan I'm a huge tech fan, otherwise, this site would never exist.  This also means I enjoy playing the odd computer game or two and what better when your indoors to enjoy some great fun outdoors - confused? [Read more]

Eat Yourself Fitter – The Paleo Diet Explained

November 3, 2008 by

I was speaking with a sports nut friend of mine today and asked him what goals he'd set for next year.

He responded that he wanted to represent GB in Sprint Triathlon at a competition taking place in Australia in 2009.

He then went on to explain that he had radically altered his diet in the last couple of weeks and had found himself setting new personal bests in various disciplines.

Curious I asked him to tell me more and he said that this new way of eating had given him a tremendous energy boost without the need to train longer and harder.

Now if there is one thing required to enjoy most outdoor sports it is a good level of general fitness.  So if you struggle to get out as often as you'd like and also find it difficult to keep in shape down the gym why not eat your way fitter?

The Paleo Diet is based on the principles of what the historic hunter/gatherers ate.

Keeping things brief the basics of this diet require [Read more]

All Terrain Vehicles Are Bad For Your Health

October 31, 2008 by

They say no news is good news and in the case of ATVs that may well be true.

The whole purpose of the Go Outdoor Sports site is to encourage people to do just that.  Get outdoors, enjoy the scenery and partake in some form of sporting activity that they can really become passionate about.

Heck, we even have a number of stores including a used atv store where you can pick up some new, but in the main, nearly new and used gear at prices that make trying out a new outdoor sport affordable.

But I digress.  Getting out in the country by ATV is just a wonderful and fun experience.  In fact, it's hard to imagine [Read more]
